Two million additional seats to popular tourist destinations in the EU and Florida: in the wake of Thomas Cook insolvency proceedings Tui UK doubles down on capacity. Tui Airways will keep planes set for retirement before and increase its 2020 pilot staffing to support the expansion.
"We are delighted that our additional flying will allow us to grow our team," said Tui Airways managing director Dawn Wilson. Tui Airways is looking to hire "over 100 pilots and over 200 cabin crew" to support its new flights out of Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Glasgow.
According to Wilson, Tui Airways hopes to attract "50 Thomas Cook captains" into its 2020 pilot population.
