UK tightens Emirates flight crew immigration rules

, © Emirates
LONDON - Emirates will add a regular flight attendant to its A380 flights to the UK as authorities tighten rules.

Emirates was the first airline to introduce showers in its A380 first class - the spas are serviced by on-board "housekeeping" staff. As these employees do not qualify as "licensed flight crew" UK Border Control officials banned the shower attendants from immigration privileges.

Emirates will replace the shower crew member with a regular flight attendant. "One Mile at Time" blog reported first.
