Birmingham, London Stansted and Manchester: "The acquisition of these key UK airport slots will play an important role in supporting our continued growth", Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said in a statement. "We have been adding more flights and aircraft, resulting in increased capacity, at each of these bases for many years."
Recent job listings for type-rated captains and first offers and schedule updates seem to confirm speculation that Jet2 plans to add significant A321 capacity to its Boeing single aisle fleet. According to industry sources, Jet2 will operate at least three A321 by next year.
Jet2 so far declined to comment.
