British Airways retired its 747-400 fleet early in the crisis. As no buyers would take on the jumbos, most of them will be sourced for parts at different airports. During scrap, a fire broke out in the upper deck of G-CIVD in Castellon Monday. Services responded to the scene.

The fire was under control quickly. G-CIVD was the first 747-400 British Airways retired this year and transferred to Spain in August.
