LONDON - London Stansted has become one of the first airports in the UK to receive CAA recognition for the measures implemented across the airport to make it Covid-secure as it prepares for the return of passengers in the coming weeks.

Stansted, assisted by the CAA and Public Health England, has established and maintained a range of Covid-secure activities to meet international guidance on Covid safety measures set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The assessment looks at compliance with guidance on general hygiene, cleaning, masks and face coverings, health screening and declarations, the mental health and well-being of employees and passengers, as well as specific steps for passengers with reduced mobility.

Stansted is the first UK airport to receive the official assurance recognition outside of the three participants of the pilot scheme which included East Midlands Airport, Heathrow and British Airways.
