LONDON - Luxair connects "selected" services into London City Airport with its new-generation Embraer E195-E2. The new aircraft offers capacity of 136 seats, boosting the links between the two financial centres and supporting business travel.

The E195-E2 is the largest aircraft currently operating at London City Airport and combines increased capacity with significantly reduced noise levels. "Its noise footprint at take-off is around 60 percent smaller than that of current jet aircraft such as the E190," London City Airport said.

With up to 31 flights per week on the London City route, Luxair is introducing the E195-E2 on selected flights.

Gilles Feith, Luxair CEO, says: "London City has been a special destination for Luxair for more than two decades," Luxair CEO Gilles Feith said. "We have always felt genuinely welcome and have built a great relationship with the airport, our partners and, most importantly, our passengers."

The type - certified for steep approach profiles - is not new to London City. Helvetic Airways also serves the airport with its E195-E2 fleet.
