No salary for british Thomas Cook pilots

LONDON - According to pilot union BALPA, Thomas Cook employees have yet to receive a September paycheck.

Employees of defunct Thomas Group companies were due to receive their salaries by September 30th. As the company went into liquidation Monday, September 23rd September, no payments were made so far.

Brian Strutton, BALPA General Secretary, said: "This is adding insult to injury. It’s awful enough for staff members to have lost their jobs overnight but to not receive salary for the work already done is absolutely disgraceful. It’s hard not to feel aggrieved at Thomas Cook management for this disaster."

The loss of their jobs is an even more important factor for British Thomas Cook pilots as their German colleagues at Condor up to now have been able to keep operating thanks to a public credit line of 380 million Euro.
