British Airways A350 clips Emirates 777 in Dubai

DUBAI - The streak of bad luck continues for the British Airways A350-1000 fleet - the maiden aircraft sustained damage in a parking accident at Dubai.

British Airways needs to repair its A350-1000 G-XWBA after an incident at the western part of Dubai DXB airport: during pushback the aircraft`s horizontal stabiliser clipped the elevator of a parked Emirates Boeing 777-300ER (A6-EBR). Both aircraft sustained minor damage.

The all new British Airways A350-1000 fleet was involved in a recent sequence mishaps. Delivered in December 2019, "jinxed" G-XWBD alone experienced a hard landing in Tel Aviv, an hydraulic failure that caused hot brakes during a landing in Toronto and a similar incident at London only a few days later.

The jet had also been damaged during painting at Airbus pre-delivery.
