LONDON - International passengers are set to face long queues at the immigration lanes at Heathrow Airport this week. An unsolved dispute on duty rosters between the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) and the UK Government escalates to a strike of border force officers at Britain's largest international airport.

PCS members went on strike Heathrow terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 on Monday morning to protest new duty rosters. The laber action will continue till Friday morning.

"Hundreds of Heathrow border force officers set to strike over changes to their working conditions", PCS said. According to the union, the proposed duty rosters could eliminate 250 jobs.

Heathrow might also face disruptions next week as another union called for a strike of airport workers from May 7 to 13 to protest outsourcing plans.
