LONDON - Wizz Air will spread its incoming Airbus A321XLR fleet across several bases - and mulls a London-Gatwick EIS in spring 2025.

Wizz Air ordered 47 A321XLRs from Airbus, with deliveries scheduled to start in spring 2025. The Hungarian ULCC plans to deploy its A321neos with intercontinental range on the Milan-Malpensa - Abu Dhabi route by June.

However, the A321XLR EIS at Wizz Air will take place as early as March 31 on the route from London-Gatwick to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Wizz Air CEO Jozsef Varadi clarified at a media event in London, according to "Aviation Week".

Wizz Air intends to spread its A321XLRs across six to eight bases across its network, Varadi said. Wizz Air also applied for routes to India with its A321XLR.
