LONDON - A fire at a substation cut power supply at London Heathrow Airport for hours last Friday - 1,300 flights were cancelled, 200,000 passengers affected by schedule disruptions. The incident triggered an anti-terror investigation by MET Police and Scotland Yard - as of now, no foul play is suspected.

An investigation into the fire at a substation at Heathrow Airport discovered no evidence for arson.

"Following enquiries to date, officers have found no evidence to suggest that the incident was suspicious in nature," MET police said. "As such, we are no longer treating this as a potentially criminal matter, although we continue to support other partners, including colleagues from National Grid."

The incident shut Heahtrow operations down most Friday with disruptions through the weekend. Energy Minister Ed Miliband ordered an investigation by the system operator National Grid.
