AAIB to investigate incident on British Airways flight

LONDON - A British Airways flight had to deal with two stall warnings during an approach into London-Heathrow. The pilots issued a Mayday distress call.

London Heathrow Airport, 6 July 2026: British Airways 919 from Dusseldorf was inbound runway 27L when an Air Data Reference (ADR) malfunction broke the landing routine.

"During the approach phase, an ADR failure triggered a stall warning", the AAIB said. "The crew flew the aircraft under alternate law and declared a PAN (emergency). A further stall warning occurred at 3,000 feet, accompanied by a potentially abrupt recovery maneuver, resulting in the PAN being changed to a MAYDAY. The aircraft landed without further incident."

The incident involving aircraft G-EUUM has provisionally been classified as a "serious incident” and is now subject to further investigation.
