LONDON - British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Heathrow Airport lift the mask mandate for travellers.

British Covid-19 cases surged 50 percent week on week. Amid rising infection rates, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Heathrow Airport drop the mask mandate.

However, a recommendation still applies, British Airways said. The mask mandate remains in place for destinations that still require the measure.

In the UK, the mask mandate has been lifted in many indoor areas since the end of January, although some businesses and shops continued to keep it in place.
