LONDON - Up 300 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft deliveries will propel Ryanair to 300 million passengers by 2034. The airline needs a steady inflow of new pilots to support its ambitious growth strategy - a flight school programme in the UK will give Ryanair access to 400 new hires over the next four years.

Ryanair launched its "Future Flyer Academy" pilot training programme in partnership with UK-based flight school Skyborne Airline Academy.

Skyborne will train "over 400 aspiring pilots who will ultimately join the airline group as Second Officers over the next 4 years," Ryanair said.

While Skyborne has trained Ryanair pilots before, the new programme will combine initial training "with the Type Rating qualification to fast-track pilot training progression".

While Ryanair guarantees its flights students a Second Officer job upon course completion, fineprints apply, the airline will not cover any parts of the 131,400 GBP course fee.

"Steady pipeline"

"Our Future Flyer Academy training programme will provide Ryanair with a steady pipeline of talented and professional pilots from around Europe to meet the needs of our growing network," Captain Paul Kelly, Head of Ryanair Crew Training, said. "This enhanced programme has a proven track record of providing us with highly trained cadets."

Applications with Skyborne are open now.
